Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wagner born in 1958 in Oestrich/Rheingau obtained his doctorate in 1991 and habilitated in 1997 at the TH Darmstadt. Since 1996 he is manager of Institute IWAR at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 2006 he became Prof. h.c. (honoris causa) at Qingdao Technological University (China) and in 2014 honorary professor at Tongji University Shanghai (China). Since 2009 he is head of the Regional Section China of the German Water Partnership GmbH. His research focus is among others on wastewater treatment, aeration and gas transfer, energy in wastewater treatment plants as well as semizentralized supply and disposal systems in fast-growing urban areas.
