Ms Lea Hennemann honored as best student of the year

Ms Lea Hennemann, M.Sc. was honored as the best student of the year in the Umweltingenieurwissenschaften (M.Sc.) degree programme at the academic graduation ceremony of Faculty 13 on 08.07.2022. Ms Hennemann wrote her Master's thesis at the Department of Wastewater Technology under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Engelhart. In it, she dealt with the electrochemical and biological treatment of highly contaminated wastewater from sewage sludge treatment. The thesis provided important insights into the treatment problems of these wastewaters and was able to point out possible solutions. Excerpts of the work were presented to a broad audience in a presentation at the international conference “17th IWA World Conference on Anaerobic Digestion” in Michigan, USA. Ms Hennemann also worked for a long time as a student assistant at the Department of Wastewater Technology.
