2024/06/24

On 11.06.2024, Dr. Alice do Carmo Precci Lopes (TU Darmstadt) and Raphael Zimmermann (GreenDelta GmbH) took part in the AI Networking Meeting 2024 of the BMUV (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection) funding initiative “AI Lighthouses for Environment, Climate, Nature and Resources” (original in German: “KI-Leuchttürme für Umwelt, Klima, Natur und Ressourcen”) at the Impact Hub Berlin. The meeting enabled the exchange of experiences among the various projects, the development of synergies for future projects and thrilling discussions on the topics of AI, resource conservation and climate protection.

The meeting was opened by Dr. Bettina Hoffmann, Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMUV. Dr. Hoffmann also handed out awards to the 13 successfully completed AI lighthouse projects, including the project ReCircE – Digital Lifecycle Record for the Circular Economy – transparent design of material cycles and optimization of waste sorting with the help of artificial intelligence.
